Quiet peaceful and everting was clean. Everyone was very nice

Overall great experience. It’s a great place to “get away from it all” without driving a long distance from home.
We love the new bathroom/shower house. Our only suggestion is the bathrooms could use a couple more hooks on the wall.

I love federal campgrounds especially those that are located near dams. West Overlook Campground is no exception. It was clean, lawn well groomed, tarred roads, and the NEW bathroom/shower facility was stellar. I didn't give the facilities a top rating because the loop near the new bathroom/showers is near the edge of the embankment and on very windy days it takes the brunt of the wind unlike the rest of the campground which is closer to the dam, lower in elevation, and protected by trees. One annoying aspect of the bathrooms is the lack of a locking system that indicated someone is inside--like a little red indicator that says, "occupied." To find out if anyone is inside, you have to try turning the door knob. That type of door lock can't be that expensive. Another annoying issue is with the new bathroom showers. You cannot adjust the direction of the shower nozzle. That means as soon as you turn on the water, you get hit with cold water until the warm water eventually begins spraying you. Despite these small inconveniences, I would still highly recommend the campground.
