We reserved site 32 next to a water hydrant and it didn’t work even after we stayed in the same spot 6 weeks before and notified the park rangers. It was a long 10 days pumping water out of buckets into the camper. Disappointed. I hope it’s fixed next year.

Nice showers and bathrooms. We tent camped and we were not the only ones tent camping either. It is clearly more of an RV campground, in my opinion (as most are now), but it was quiet and peaceful for tent camping, too. I'd recommend it to anyone. We also enjoyed a short walk to Saylorville Lake, which has a small beach area for the kids.

We love camping at Cherry Glen. It is close to our home in Ankeny and we know the area in case we need to get something on the spur of the moment. Ankeny being that close can fulfill the needs of campers. Polk City is just up the road from Cherry Glen and a nice place to be on the square and enjoy a scoop of ice cream. Des Moines is close also and there are many site to visit. Enjoy!
