This is a large & beautiful COE park. Sites are large, level, & lots of space between sites. Sites are all well shaded & areas between sites are grass. Park is convenient to Pella.

Great spot on the water and very friendly hosts. Higher number spots seemed more level and shady but all were great. Only here for a night but would have liked to stay longer. Best army corps I’ve been to with cell service for working on the road like me (T-Mobile and att had great service). Also some of the better showers at this a.c. park

We loved everything about our stay in this beautiful campground. The sites are very spacious and well kept. There were lots of trees providing sufficient shade for the 90+ temperatures we had. Showers and restrooms were clean. Our site was right by the river, close to the pedestrian bridge, and we enjoyed afternoon and evening strolls along the trail or across the bridge. Just be aware that internet coverage is very poor, we always had to walk on the bridge to get at least 2 or 3 bars. ;-)

We loved all the bike trails that were so easy to get on from the campground, however. There were several dogs on long (20 ft or better) leads that came rushing out barking and growling at us. Most noticeable was the hosts with dogs tied out on long leads and no one outside watching them when all posted signs and printed material of rules clearly states nothing longer than six foot leads. I am on a recumbent trike which sits very low to the ground and when a huge German Shepherd lunges at me as I go along the bike trail it was very upsetting to say the least. We spoke to several Rangers about this and they said they are allowing it and that it was "OK." This is a safety issue not just being a stickler for following rules but there should be nothing wrong with expecting everyone to follow the rules. No one should have to be fearful when walking or riding by a campsite because a big dog comes rushing out barking and growling. You have a problem that needs to be taken care of. We enjoy camping but it definitely puts a damper on the relaxation of camping when you have to worry that a dog may be jumping out at you. Please pass this on to the ones who make the rules. If you are having rules but don't abide by them, does anybody have to follow any of the rules?
