The area was extremely clean. The camping spaces were not on top of each other. The grounds were perfect. Could not ask for a better place to camp.

Really nice area. We have camped here several times. This particular time we could not reserve the handicap accessible site but did quite well on a regular site, #59. It is right on a curve so be sure to pull your vehicles in completely off of the road way. Surrounded by beautiful trees. The camp host at the pay booth was very nice. As far as if you need a true handicap restroom available, the one connected to the actual handicap site is the user friendliest. Good shower access. The other bathrooms say they’re handicap accessible but are not even close to having showers that are accessible. The doorway threshold into the bathroom is too high. Also, there is no parking reserved for a handicap van with a side ramp. The bathroom stalls do let you get your wheelchair in but your chair will be up against your legs to be able to lock the door. Also, campers seem to use the bathroom parking for their guest and quite often you can not park at the restroom so I just took my wheelchair over several times before dark. Howell Station is one of our favorite spots and we’ve learned to make do with the accessible issues and hope to have many more weekends and weeks enjoying the river, eagles, scenery and getting to know fellow campers.
