What Guests Are Saying
Sandy Beach Campground is a well-maintained, clean, and quiet facility with spacious campsites, friendly staff, and immaculate bathrooms. Many visitors appreciate the beautiful views and the peaceful atmosphere, especially during weekdays. However, some noted the lack of a sandy beach for swimming and occasional noise from nearby live music on weekends, along with minor maintenance issues that could be addressed. Overall, guests recommend the campground for its value and pleasant experience.

I spent two nights a few days apart this trip as I had to return to have a repair at my prior stop. I stayed at site 9 and 17. I usually stay a couple of times annually and have always found the sites clean, well maintained and most are reasonably level. The camp host is helpful and pleasant. The tank dump area has always been clean and the dump water hoses maintained well. Cell service on my Verizon network is good. I do prefer entering the campground from Shueyville as those roads are all paved. The route in from Solon is partially dirt road and can be very wash boardy or dusty depending on the weather.

This is another great USACE facility. A bit smaller than some of the others we have stayed at, but equally well maintained. Nice boat launch just down the road next to the campground and although we didn't get out on Corralville Lake, it looked like a great body of water to explore. We enjoyed watching the huge flocks of American White Pelicans that cruised the skies while we were there. There aren't any trails, and the campground is a hub for fisherman and boaters for the most part. It's great that there is a fish cleaning station near the boat launch also. The showers were clean and had great pressure. It's an easy drive into North Liberty or Corralville for supplies also. The road in was easy for us to navigate with our 42 foot class A and dingy vehicle, and the interior roads are paved and also easy to navigate. Pads were all gravel and we had enough room for our motorhome in our 50 foot site. Water is available at the dump station when you enter the campground so fill up there as there is no water at the sites. 30 amp power was strong and we had no problems.

Great campground near the lake!
Pros: the camping spots are huge and pretty level!! Had plenty of room to park our 32ft camper and big ol truck. Gravel spot that seems much wider and longer than ehat you'd normally see at an average campground. The campground is very clean and well maintained. The park is in good shape and safe for kids. Lots of shade, too!
Cons: Most of the spots do not have a water hookup, they only have a few spots that are full hookup. Most people don't mind that, but wanted to mention. The bathroom/showers were in decent shape but very dirty compared to Sugar Bottom campground. They look about the same but I noticed these hadn't been cleaned in awhile. But atleast the showers are hot and stalls are stocked with TP!
We had a great time and will be back!
