Sugar Bottom is a very-well maintained COE campground with plenty of site options. I personally like the private, unisex bathroom/shower combos. Clean and plenty of hot water. A shoutout to volunteer Carol who took a personal interest in my upcoming surgery (the reason we were staying there). I only wish they didn’t close for the season on Sept. 30.

We were in site 302. The site was perfect. However, we would have liked the park to offer some sites as walk ups (No Reservation). Being out of state the locals in the area block out Fridays and Saturdays.

Nice spot to camp. Off season nice and peaceful. Close to the disc golf course.

Large campground, with many sites was busy (college football game weekend in nearby Iowa City), but well kept. Great location right on the lake, including beach access, a few playgrounds, and a hiking/biking trail network. Great family camping.

I wish you would go back and have some of first come spots. The people at the pay station we Very rude. Calling me at my house and asking why I didn’t show up. What would make the Difference up I showed up. You guys got paid the spot. You need to get younger people there. The one was Very Grouchy. Giving my one spot 15 minutes to pay or get out. Some people do have stuff to do.

I love the campground. It is really beautiful with allot of sites with a view of the lake. The hosts were really nice. Showers were really nice and clean. I also liked that you have fish cleaning stations with electricity.
