We loved all the trees. Most sites are shady. The sites are nicely separated. We also appreciated the combination toilet, sink, and showers.

This is a big, beautiful park. I camped in the walk-in campground in a tent. It was quite private and under the trees. And no RV's were visible, so it had old-fashioned camping ambiance, from the days when there were no RV's! Maybe next time I will try an open space so I can see the stars better. It's always a trade-off between getting shade during the day and getting stars at night. There was a pit toilet by the parking lot, also a water pump, and close by were two shower buildings. They were very clean and well ventilated. The shower was a good temperature and, unlike the state parks, the shower stayed on until you turn it off. If you are a tent camper and don't need electric etc., you will enjoy this park. If you have an RV or want lots of neighbors and other people around, or if you want a secluded retreat, this campground offers it all. It is 6 minutes away from the Lake MacBride bike path in Solon, which is a great ride. You can start in Solon, bike to the park in an hour and have lunch at Lake MacBride park and then bike back. The entrance to the bike path in Solon was a little tricky to find. It is behind the high school athletic fields. If you Google Timber Dome Lodge, it's right in that parking lot, and there is a restroom there. To bike the north shore of Lake MacBride, take the crushed limestone trail. There are some paved trails there too.

Had the place to ourselves. Park-like setting with nice amenities. Little confusing try to find our spot, but overall great experience.

Everything was great, checkin/checkout great. Only issue, the grass just in front of our site wasn't mowed and considerably longer then the rest of the grass. When we asked (on Fri am) if they could mow quick for our stay until Mon, we were told the mower doesn't come until Tues and if we had our own mower we could mow ourselves. Not the end of the world, but not typical for this usually immaculate park.
