My daughter and I camped here one night hoping to ride the MTB trails the next day. Unfortunately, the trails were too wet and not open. The swimming beaches had weird sand mud, the water was muddy, and the heavy rain washed all sorts of gross stuff and foam onto the beaches so we didn't swim. I forgot to bring discs for disc golfing. Kind of a bust for activities. But, the campsite, bathrooms, and hosts were terrific.

Boat ramp closed. Poor accommodations for those with boat. Construction noise and traffic.

We had not been camping at Sugar Bottom for several years and we were pleasantly surprised at the improvements/changes that had been made. Our group was able to get sites together, close to water, close to the restrooms, and with plenty of shade. The many activities in and around the area are great. We plan on at least 2 or more camping trips to Sugar Bottom in 2020... Great Job...

Overall it's a nice place to camp. The one thing my wife and I observe is the lack of enforcement of park rules. We were camped by the public restrooms I think the number was 34. Several times we had to chase a dog back to the camper across from us. Being the weekend there is sometimes two park rangers in the vehicle as they make their rounds. In the campsite that I just mentioned their dog was standing loose and unattended and two cars parked on the grass and it is a shame as the two rangers entered that part of our area you could see them talking to each other and no attempt to see what was going on around them. If that dog, which was about 50 pounds, kept coming on our site if it came close enough to me or my wife I would have bopped it with my cane causing more trouble than if the rangers were doing their job in the first place.

The people next to use were doing drunken karaoke and were so loud. It was so hard to get my children to sleep because of them and it was hard to sleep myself. They made our family trip miserable!
