We had a great time at Sugar Bottom. Great facilities and very helpful staff. We'll be staying there again for sure!

We love it there but it is taking a long time to get the ones close to the water opened. Did all that work down there and for what. Need more new spots. For instance 170 - up to whatever the numbers are in the two lower roads weren't opened all last year and maybe part of the year before. Also the reservation thing. Use to be able to go early and put down a small tent to save the spot . I think the govt. Is afraid the older people that like to camp the most aren't bringing them any money in. Well you are losing alot if money but not having those lower ones opened

The primitive campgrounds were very accessible for people with limited/no camping experience. My friends and I had a great time while there.

It is a good central location to then take day trips to Kalona, West Branch, Coralville, Amanas, etc.
