What Guests Are Saying
Mound Valley offers clean and well-maintained campsites with beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a popular destination for campers. Visitors appreciate the friendly camp hosts and the excellent swimming beach, as well as the spacious, shaded sites. While some facilities, like the bathrooms and shower houses, could use improvements, many guests have enjoyed their overall experience and plan to return.

Due to covid 19 the swim beach was closed yet they didn't show that when booking. Also they advertise as a clean clear lake when in fact it was very murky during our visit. We did have access to the lake from our campsite but it was a steep climb 75 yards through the woods only to reach a muddy, rocky access. The site did have nice shade, picnic table and grill.

Our favorite place to be ! The COE is by far the best value out there.
I love hoe the spaces are not on top of each other like a parking lot. No problem with neighbors. LOTS of shade.
Most spots are easy to go in and out of.

Friendly host, clean sites, well-maintained restrooms, plus a great area for Fall campin.

The sites are very generous in size, there are lots of trees, the facilities while far from new are mostly adequate and probably the only down side. A lot of the sites have been upgraded in the last three years. I do wish for more hiking trails of which there is only one at present.

After making the reservation, we had a problem develop which prevented us from making the trip. We made several calls to the camp ground and also to recreation.gov, requesting a refund or partial refund of our money which was already deducted from our credit card. REcreation.gov told us to call the camp ground, the camp ground said they couldn't refund anything until after the reservation expired. After the reservation expired, they claimed we didn't qualify for some reason.
We did not get to use our reservation, we are out over $40.00 with no benefit received and no refund of any amount. Please do not ask me to be happy with this experience.
If we ever plan to use a Recreation.gov facility in the future, we will arrive at the gate and check on camp site availability.

we always enjoy our stay at Mound Valley. however we noticed there was a lot of downed wood and debris. also we wish this campground (and many others) had recycling receptacles. overall a very nice experience.
