The wind blew 40 mph but other than that the bathhouse was clean and the campsite was awesome.

We enjoyed our stay at Canning Creek as much as the weather would allow. On the night of our arrival we experienced severe thunderstorms, ominous skies and tornado warnings. It was a tense and sleepless night wondering if we would need to seek shelter. The next few days were clear skies, but heavy winds, so we were able to get out and do some exploring, but fishing and bike riding were our due to the high winds. But hey! it is Kansas after all and we still had fun camping with family and friends even though the weather tried to put a damper on our time together. We found the campground itself to be well maintained and the modern restrooms with showers were clean and well stocked during our entire visit. Our campsite, #32, was level and included a level concrete pad for our 25' camper, water hookup, 30 & 50 amp electric hookups, fire pit, picnic table and a covered shelter over the picnic table. Verizon and AT&T cell service was adequate to allow me to work and conduct some WebEx and MS Teams video meetings. OOKLA Speedtest documented 29 Mbps download speeds for Verizon and blistering 110 Mbps download speeds for AT&T. All things considered, we thought the campground was nicely maintained and offered beautiful views of the reservoir along with easy access to the nearby historic town of Council Grove. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

Everything was great. If I had to give constructive feedback, I'd have to ask for a little more signage. We drove in after dark and had a tough time finding our camping space. Once we found it, we were very pleased with the site.
