Our stay would have had an excellent rating except our camping spot had about 50’ of lake frontage, and another camper parked his boat dead center of our view and left it there for over 24 hours, and the Corps official wouldn’t do anything about it, we will never camp that spot again!!! It went from perfect to sour in one day.

Richey Cove Park campground at Council Grove Lake is a great place for families to spend a weekend, or a week. The campground is on the east side of the lake, so evening sunsets are spectacular. Campsites are spacious. Facilities are clean. There's a swimming beach and playground in the campground for the kids. The campground has modern family style shower rooms with sinks/toilets. There's also a boat ramp/parking at the campground. All campsites have 50 amp electric and most have water. The sites that don't have water have a water source nearby. Most campsites have paved parking/table pads. The local park rangers and county sheriff officers patrol the campground often to ensure rules are followed and that everyone has a great experience. The town of Council Grove is only 5 minutes away for convenient shopping for any supplies you may have forgotten to pack, or to grab another bag of ice. The campground is near the beautiful Flint Hills Tall Grass Prairie and there are a number of day trip family adventure opportunities in the area.
