We always enjoy camping at Ritchie's Cove at the Council Grove, KS lake. The are has shade trees and the lake access is great. Having the historical city of Council Grove five minutes from your campsite provides a lot of historical sites to visit.

There is no attended gate shack to pay at, you must drive to the other side of the lake to pay. But over all it's pretty good for kids, this is where the swim beach is located.
