What Guests Are Saying
Whitehall Bay offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience with stunning lake views and well-spaced sites, making it a great escape from city life. The campgrounds are generally clean, with good facilities such as hot showers and individual/group sites equipped with electricity and water. However, access roads are rough and poorly maintained, and some restroom facilities could use better upkeep. Overall, it's a lovely location for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty.

Quiet beautiful campground. Our site#11 was large and a great combination of sun and shade. It is obvious that the COE employees have been working in the campground removing dead trees. The water level was high and the beach somewhat non-existent.

Mon - Wed. 3 days 2 nights. Whitehall Bay is a fairly large layout with ample space between lots. Most of the lots have a great view of the lake. This area doesn't have direct access to the water though.
There is also a large group spot in this location. We counted 12 hook-ups. With a large gazebo and several picnic tables. Two large group style bbq's.
I'm not sure about all of the lots... Our lot had water, elec. both 30 & 50, and waste disposal as well. No dump station on the way out! A first for me.
Lots of May flies, glad we had the bug zapper.
They had an issue with the plumbing while we were there. A pipe burst. They were VERY accommodating though and allowed us to use a different campground for showers. Maintenance stopped by several times to update us on the repair progress. They waived our exit time to allow us more clean up time once the water was back on.
The park has a swimming beach. It wasn't in very good condition since what appeared to be some pretty major flooding. Lots of drift wood 20 feet or more from the current shore. The dam was still packed with lots of dead wood.
We checked out the "so called" walking paths. Ya, nope! Majorly over grown. Looked pretty snakie to me.
I love the campground but there really isn't anything to do. No towns close. 20 - 30 minute drive to the closest gas station/town. Tiny, tiny town. If you fish, I don't, bring your bait with you. We did see fish feeding at dusk.
We only saw 2 boats on the water the days we were there. I suspect since the lake/park is so far from any measurable civilization is why.
Cricket (AT&T) cell service was 5G. T-mobile... Inside the camper I was able to hotspot for the tv. Outside I barely got a signal. Just enough for texting, nothing else.
There was no camp host at our campground. No one ever checked to see if we were supposed to be there.
Over all it's a beautiful place. I will gladly go again. I'll be sure to take some games for something to do next time.

Great place to stay without camping so close together that you can reach out and literally touch your neighbor. Lots of room to move around, clean restrooms with free showers, water side camping at many sites, nice swimming area located near the boat ramp with a generous beach that is well maintained. Lots of shade up on the hill with sites that have full hookups including sewer at a reasonable price. We love this area and spend a lot of time here in the spring through the fall. Highly recommend this campground.

I only stayed 2 nights, but I found the campground to be peaceful and well-treed. My only disappointment was with the women’s bathroom. Of the 2 toilet stalls, 1 toilet bowl was clogged and the other stall’s door neither locked nor stayed closed. If the bathrooms were to be better maintained I would stay there again.

The roads around the lake to the campground are horrible. They are very narrow and falling apart. The campground itself was very dated and the facilities are old and nasty.
