The campground was shady and sites were spacious.
It was the nicest and largest real sand beach at a park in KS or MO that I have found.
Hosts were friendly.
Ranger did a drive by, felt very safe there

It was a great weekend! Bathrooms and campground was in great condition and clean. Lots are great size. I would recommend bringing bug spray or fogger as the little bugs like to hang around but other than that we LOVED our experience!

Level concrete sites, nice lake.
NEVER saw a camp host, checked multiple times....grass uncut and over a foot high, bathroom and shower was dingy, dirty with hundreds of dead bugs...gnats by the hundreds! So thick outside we went into the camper, only to find they made it inside.
Checkout day, at the dump station, a girl decided to mow between the stations, pelting us with gravel, rocks and sticks. As if there wasn't multiple acres to mow until we finished.
I hope to never visit here again. I do have pictures to back up the statements.

The prices have gone up and the facilities are dirtier than ever. We’ve been looking at the same smudge mark in the women’s shower for two years. They clean the toilets and stock the toilet paper but ignore the rest of the bathroom and showers. Quiet time really isn’t enforced and there are hardly any trees by the water and no plans to plant new trees to replace the ones that were cut down after the flooding.

This is a beautiful campground and the facilities are great. Nice and close to the beach. My only complaint is that there are no recycling bins either at the campground or the lake. Considering the amount of bottles and cans used by campers, this would be well used.

Not as quiet at nite and dogs not on leash. Owners not picking up after their dogs.

It’s a nice campground. I like the drive through sites but we didn’t have much shade and it got hot. I thought the bathrooms were dark but clean. We didn’t feel welcomed by host. I went to talk to him about our reservations and he didn’t want to be bothered by my question and he said he was closed. Our granddaughter enjoyed the playground.

This was our 4th time camping here. We've had great experiences the three previous times, but this time was awful. We had a site near a group of young men (college, perhaps high school age). They were drinking heavily and by 10 PM were very loud (and were playing loud music). I told the campground attendant and they didn't do anything. By 1:30 AM many of the men were vomiting and passing out at their site, others were swimming in the lake (heavy drinking and night swimming- not a good combo). I ended up calling the sheriff. Two officers came out. That caused the to quiet down, but we could still hear them vomiting at their campsite. We ended up getting about 3 hours of sleep with a 700 mile drive ahead of us. As we left in the morning, we could see trash from the men's campsite everywhere. We will look for another place to camp next time we are heading that way.
