The men's restroom was closed due to vandalism. Other than that, our visit was great

Very clean campground. Campground bathrooms were excellent - plenty of supplies, clean, well ventilated, no bugs (except for the rogue crickets). Neighboring campers were a bit too close for my liking (but that’s the only reason why I didn’t rate this excellent). But I’ve also been in tighter quarters….so if you have nice, respectful neighbors like we did, it worked out fine. All in all a very good experience and the cleanliness factor was a huge plus!

Our spots #35 & 36 are very pretty but the fire pits were very full!

We enjoyed our time at Cottonwood Point. We hiked, biked and fished. Shower facilities were clean.

I was pleasantly surprised at my stay on Marion lake Cottonwood Point. I had a campsite right by the water with absolutely beautiful sunsets. The area was really quite and checking in was a breeze. I had full hookups for my rig. Had a grill and a fire pit at the site and was reasonably priced. I would recommend this camping area and will definitely return.

We have stayed in several Corp of Engineers Campgrounds and have always been so pleased with overall condition of campgrounds. However, Cottonwood Point was a very big disappointment. The awning over the picnic table was covered in spider webs on the underside along with wasp nests, we battled them when setting at the table; the fire pit was almost full of ashes with burnt beer cans and other partially burned trash. My husband cleaned it out so we could have a campfire. The electrical post was so covered in spider webs and bugs that we sprayed and cleaned it off before ever hooking up. The weeds were so close to the edge of the campsite that my husband came home with poison ivy. We asked gate attendant about who keeps it clean he said third party contractor. We were very disappointed that not only did we pay to stay in a unkept site but are tax dollars are being paid to some entity that is not doing their job. It was very evident this site had not been cleaned for quite some time. My sister stayed in the site beside us and theirs was just as bad.
