We try to camp at Melvern Outlet at least twice a year. It's always peaceful, clean, and well maintained. Many sites have lotsa shade. We wanted to extend our stay a night and the camp host were very helpful. In fact they indicated they had a cancellation and a water side site was available for the following 3 nights ... we snagged it up. There are several hiking trails in the area as well as a swim beach which sadly was temporarily closed during our visit. We'll be back this fall and following years to come. Be aware you have to reserve early!

General

  • Attention all campers, the laundry facilities are permanently closed to all park guests.
  • Special creel and length limits are enforced on the park fishing pond
  • Failure to be on site within 24 hours of your reservation status.
  • A poilicy of the Corps of Engineers is to require all campers, including camping units, that camping at one or more campsites at any one water resource project for a period longer than 14 days during any 30-consecutive-day period is prohibited.
  • Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site within a fire ring. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
  • Call the Melvern Lake Project Office at 785-549-3318 with additional questions

  • Reminder that campsites in B-loop do not have firerings, if you would like to bring your own make sure it is off the ground.
