We camped at camp site 48 down at the overflow pond and loved it!!! The fishing was great!!! Sites are clean and the showers are as well clean and free!! Sites are spread apart well. Plenty of shade at all the sites and a wonderful walking trail around the pond. Loved that there's two swimming areas. All sites have electric and water!!! This place was quiet and the park ranger comes through often. Would definitely recommend to anyone going the southeast Kansas!!

We enjoy camping at Melvern lake. The spot that we had this time(outlet B-80) lacked shade. We were aware of this prior to going. They have planted trees to eventually have shade. Other than the lack of shade it is a great place to camp
