This is a beautiful campground. Layout of Loop B was way too close and sites were too short. Roads were confusing and narrow. Loop B is definitely not big rig friendly. More signage would have helped. We will not stay in that loop again. Loop C is best with waterfront sites. Loop A is nice and spacious but not FHU.

It’s an unanimous opinion of my family that the Melvern Outlet campground is the crown jewel of Corps campgrounds we have visited. It is well maintained throughout the park from restrooms to the hiking trails! Great job Melvern employees and volunteers!

We love this campground! It is quiet and peaceful. The hosts and volunteers are really nice and helpful. It has a nice fishing pond where we have caught plenty of fish for supper. It also has a separate swimming beach that is very nicely maintained. B loop is a little congested, but A & C loops have plenty of space for each site. We spend several weeks throughout the season here.

Very nice hosts, very nice campsites. Grounds well cared for. Good cycling in the area. The reason we didn't give this 5-star rating is the requirement for reservations. We are not happy that the entire campground now requires reservations. We are spur-of-the-moment travelers who consider weather when deciding when and where to go. The reservation system doesn't really accommodate that. When we arrived there were several campsites open and available, but we had to wait until hosts were at admission booth to find out which could be occupied for more than one night.
Oh...if you come in late April, be prepared for ticks!
