What Guests Are Saying
Minooka Park offers beautiful scenery and well-maintained, spacious campsites, making it a great camping destination. Guests appreciate the clean facilities, friendly staff, and recreational opportunities available, particularly the stunning views of the lake. However, some campers noted the need for more water hookup sites and improvements to certain amenities, such as leveling issues on some pads and increased accessibility to water.

Minooka is one of our favorite campgrounds. The first time seeing Wilson Lake and the surrounding terrain was a jaw dropping experience, so unexpected in the mostly flat expanse of western Kansas. The campgrounds are very well maintained and the sites are very spacious, many having incredible lake views or even sit right at the waters edge. I don’t think there is a “bad” site in the park. I will say that we travel in the slightly off season and usually mid week, so have never experienced a full, busy campground. However, I wouldn’t hesitate to go anytime because the sites are so roomy and I don’t think we would ever feel crowded. Minooka is a perfect halfway stopping place for our occasional trips from MO to CO, and if it were closer to home, it would be a camping destination for us. A beautiful place, I highly recommend, and if you can bring along your boat, all the better!
