What Guests Are Saying
Minooka Park offers beautiful scenery and well-maintained, spacious campsites, making it a great camping destination. Guests appreciate the clean facilities, friendly staff, and recreational opportunities available, particularly the stunning views of the lake. However, some campers noted the need for more water hookup sites and improvements to certain amenities, such as leveling issues on some pads and increased accessibility to water.

The site was okay. It's hard to get a site because they're always booked whether anyone shows up or not. Will be nicer when the trees have grown and there's more shade in more areas.

The campground itself is nice and had a great view of the lake. The spots were spacious and we had a nice tree for shade. The only reason we gave 3 stars was because when we got out of the car we were swarmed with biting flies. Our poor dog was covered in them whimpering and my daughter was so afraid when she got bit. This is not the fault of the campground simply something we were not prepare for. We ended up having to leave not long after arriving to escape the biting flies. (They are quite painful.) I wanted to write this so others can bring the proper bug spray! We may have gone at a bad time too for these flies we just don’t know. Otherwise again it’s a very nice campground and the hosts were so kind! We would love to try it again.

Beautiful scenery but didnt realize loop c had a lot of double sites. We were on the top of the bluff while a severe storm blew across the lake..next time would book lower on the eastern side of the campground. Winds up to 50+ mph which the check in warned us of. Playground was in great shape. Nice beach to swim. Will stop here again.

Our favorite campsite among those we visited across the country this season. Our campsite was right on the water, and only a few feet from a swim area where we swam as a family. My son now asks if every lake we see in national parks is this lake- his favorite lake. A permanent highlight for cross country road trips for years to come.

Our site was D1 and had no hookups. We were passing through Kansas and stayed for one night. It was late June and the bugs were there but they weren't terrible. The site was between two trees which gave us some shade and a little protection from the storm that came that night. It was level enough that I did not need to unhook (gravel site). The campground host made his round and checked on us before the storm came which was nice. We did not use the the bathrooms but they looked sizable and the playground equipment looked fun.
If the opportunity presents itself we would definitely stay here again when passing through. The sites are no more than 15 minutes off the interstate. We paid $18/night. If you're wise and seasoned on this Earth, it's a steal!
