Love this campground

The office was closed when we arrived at 6:00pm. We knew the campsite number so we went and set up. The restrooms were not very clean and we thought it was due to being at the end of the day.
The next morning I went over to shower and the door was locked to the ladies shower. I could not find anyone to ask since the office was again closed. 10:00am. That evening when I caught someone in the office I explained the situation and she said she would check it out.
The next morning again I found it locked. I saw the office person on the golf cart and we drove to her and she said “it wasn’t locked, it’s just really hard to open. I suggest putting a sign up with that info or put in a work order!

Wonderful, safe, super clean family place! Kristi and Erica are just wonderful and so helpful. Buckhorn has become our favorite campground!

Campers next to us were allowed to dump grey water into the river. Camper across the loop was extremely busy, multiple vehicles all day in and out of that campsite. The children had no rules or discipline. Little boy about 7 was very aggressive and used swear words. No one said anything.

Traveling north from Lexington, take I-64 to the Mountain Parkway. Exit at Slade,
take KY 11 South through Beattyville. Continue on Highway 11 to Booneville, continuing past the courthouse to KY 28 West. Follow KY 28 about 23 mi to Buckhorn.<br />...

Traveling east From Hazard, take KY 15 North 9 mi to 28 W (left turn) through Chavies. Follow Highway 28 West straight and go 15 mi to Buckhorn.
Highway access
Buckhorn Campground is accessible via I-64 and the Mountain Parkway. From I-64, take the Mountain Parkway to Slade, then KY 11 South to Booneville, and continue on KY 28 West to the campground.
