If your looking for a private area don't stay here. All open, people with fires just smoking up the area, lights on campers. It was like being at a KOA.

Very very nice facility, we had an amazing experience. Everything was very clean shower house was cleanest ever.

We booked the handicap accessible site for our 5 year old who is in a wheelchair. The site was great and paved. The bath and shower houses were clean, the shower stalls are huge and amazing, A+. The site is right by the water, a little trash was left by the water by other campers which is sad. Perhaps housekeeping can help keep the waterways clean. Smaller campground made for great families and friendly people!

It’s a great campground. Erica was so helpful and was top notch. The showers and bathrooms were so clean especially with this covid going around. Their is wi-fi but only at the front gate. No Tv at all. We we trying to relax so none was a problem for us The cell service had noproblems even with ATT. Made some new friends planing on going back someday

Traveling north from Lexington, take I-64 to the Mountain Parkway. Exit at Slade,
take KY 11 South through Beattyville. Continue on Highway 11 to Booneville, continuing past the courthouse to KY 28 West. Follow KY 28 about 23 miles to Buckhorn.
Traveling east From Hazard, take KY 15 North 9 miles to 28 W (left turn) through Chavies. Follow Highway 28 West straight and go 15 miles to Buckhorn.
Buckhorn Campground is accessible via I-64 and the Mountain Parkway. From I-64, take the Mountain Parkway to Slade, then KY 11 South to Booneville, and continue on KY 28 West to the campground.
