This is the perfect campground. Great for kids. The playground is wonderful for all ages. My kids love going to the Buckhorn Campground. The bathhouse and campsites are always clean. It is our favorite place to camp. The host and hostess do a great job of making guests feel at home. We would recommend this campground to anyone.

Great campsite. Very good pads for trailers. Super clean restrooms and laundry facility. Only negative thing difficult drive getting there. Roads narrow, steep. Difficulty pulling a big camper. Camp hosts very helpful and friendly.

If your looking for a private area don't stay here. All open, people with fires just smoking up the area, lights on campers. It was like being at a KOA.

We booked the handicap accessible site for our 5 year old who is in a wheelchair. The site was great and paved. The bath and shower houses were clean, the shower stalls are huge and amazing, A+. The site is right by the water, a little trash was left by the water by other campers which is sad. Perhaps housekeeping can help keep the waterways clean. Smaller campground made for great families and friendly people!

Traveling north from Lexington, take I-64 to the Mountain Parkway. Exit at Slade,
take KY 11 South through Beattyville. Continue on Highway 11 to Booneville, continuing past the courthouse to KY 28 West. Follow KY 28 about 23 mi to Buckhorn.<br />...

Traveling east From Hazard, take KY 15 North 9 mi to 28 W (left turn) through Chavies. Follow Highway 28 West straight and go 15 mi to Buckhorn.
Highway access
Buckhorn Campground is accessible via I-64 and the Mountain Parkway. From I-64, take the Mountain Parkway to Slade, then KY 11 South to Booneville, and continue on KY 28 West to the campground.
