Holmes Bend is a nice campground. Like many campgrounds around Kentucky's lakes, this one is VERY busy on weekends. The one downside of this facility in my view is that it closes way too early. The week after Labor Day half the sites are closed, then two weeks later two more loops are closed, then after Oct 24 everything is closed.

Campsites are large and clean. Bathroom is clean and we love the sites without electric and water as much as we do with.

Nice campground, the Park Attendants and Host’s are great but the rangers I feel overstep their interpretation of the rules by restricting electric kick scooters. This will push many adults who use them for mobility into driving actual vehicles making the campground roads busier. The thousands of dollars spent on the children wanting scooters to ride with their friends is wasted. This is a green form of recreation for our adults and children enjoying the campground, things like this make people not want to come back to a place we generally love.

Rangers at this campground are very strict. Cannot ride electric scooters day or night. Cannot even ride their bikes even if it gets a little dark. Don’t know what these Rangers expect children to do.
