Cave Creek campground is highly praised for its cleanliness, friendly hosts, and enjoyable amenities, including a boat ramp and private showers. Many campers appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and well-maintained facilities, making it a favorite spot for family gatherings and outdoor activities. However, there is concern about its potential closure and reduced operating schedule, which has saddened many regular visitors.

Love camping at Cave Creek. Darlene and Rick are the most helpful campground hosts. Very friendly and accommodating! Each lot is very good size and you don’t feel like you are right on top of other campers. You have plenty of space and privacy.

Had a great camping weekend. We were in site 56 & had a great view of the lake. Large site on concrete pad. Friendly staff. Boat ramp on site but no beach. Several hiking trails - make sure to bring the bug spray. Short drive to the state park which has a beach.

The caretakers are amazing. Very clean campground. Restrooms and shower house maintained multiple times through out the week. Grounds crew did a good job of mowing and weed eating. They made sure to stay away from our outdoor rug. Other campers were pleasant and obeyed the quiet hours. I would like to see the rangers drive through more often. Overall our experience was excellent!

Quiet and relaxing location. There was a lot of boat traffic but they were all very respectful.

Whoever manages the campsite hired some complete yahoos do grounds maintenance. This crew was using gas powered weed whackers, edgers, mowers, and leaf blowers until well after dark. They were kicking up rocks, blowing dust, dirt, pollen and other detritus everywhere. Why is that even necessary? It's a CAMPGROUND, not a manicured golf course.
And can we talk about the use of gas powered tools? Not very environmentally conscious, noisy enough to cause hearing damage, reeking of gasoline and exhaust, etc. It's really something I'd encourage the Corps to rethink. I'm sure they can do better.
If I had my way, no real camping would ever be anywhere near the RV parking lot. I live in a city and can look at a Walmart parking lot anytime, I don't want to see or hear that mess when I go camping. Other than that, what few tent sites there were, weren't bad and people generally obeyed quiet hours.

Great site, quiet, clean, ample parking for boats and trailers.
Easy access to the boat ramp. The lower part is hilly and not
great for small kids with bikes but they manage.
Clean playground and shower facility.
738 entrance road is narrow but aren't they all.
Fuel and dollar store within ten minutes. Toward Leitchfield,Ky.
Good hometown restaurant within 15 minutes toward McDaniels,Ky.
One of our favorite sites on Rough River.
The Host and Hostess we're the nicest people we've ever meet. (5/22)

Excellent small campground on Rough River. We live on Rough River but stay at Corp campgrounds for a change of pace. The facilities are adequate and very clean. The Lake House restaurant on Hwy 79 is always good.every stay leaves with a humorous little story. This time was a man and his family temporarily locked out of his pull behind camper by his 18 month old daughter.

Great campground. Beautiful views. Nice bath facilities. Confirmation paperwork could have been clearer as to the shower house pass codes. It listed them as “gate codes”.

Park host Darlene was very friendly and helpful! Park was clean and the shower house was one of the best I've seen in my limited campground experience! Private shower rooms had keypad locked doors, and a toilet/sink area as well as shower stall. We only stayed one night on our way home but would definitely stay again if in the area.
