Canal Campground is highly praised for its spacious and clean sites, friendly hosts, and beautiful surroundings, making it a favorite among campers. Visitors enjoy the quiet atmosphere, well-maintained facilities, and opportunities for outdoor activities like fishing and biking. Another great COE site. Right on the lake and beautiful area of LBL. Nature everywhere with plenty to do. Grand River is a great little area to spend a day. Our site was paved and fairly level. Deer came up every evening to our site. Here is why it is not 5 stars. The showers and restrooms where not clean and that is generous. I don't know who cleans them but it is obvious they are doing to he minimum. I mean dead bugs on lavatories, walls, showers. The sinks had dead bugs parts everywhere.

The campground and views were great! The only negative I have is the site could use more gravel. With the rain we had while we were there, the site became really muddy.

The campsite was nice. It was hard to back into because it was tight. Once in it was nice.
The bathrooms by Fisherman’s loop were terrible. They were not clean and in disrepair. We were very surprised for a COE campground. Usually they are nice. Not sure we will return.

Great location near Land Between the Lakes and Grand Rivers, a tiny town with everything you need.

Overall positive 3xperiencecwith some issues. The site I reserved #6, was not as described. It claimed to be a pull thru but the entry was so narrow, poorly paved and sloped there was no way we could get into the site. In the process of working with the checkin crew we discovered I had booked the wrong date! The end result was I was assigned a beautiful waterfront site, #8. The park staff was so responsive and helpful, they deserve five stars.
