Moutadier is a beautiful campground, with nice sites. On some, the space between the firepit and picnic table is close and doesn't leave a lot of space for out screen room. Otherwise, our stay was quiet and peaceful, with beautiful views of the lake. looking forward to our next stay.

Site A018. On the lake - beautiful. No hookups - well worth it with good exposure to the sun for charging with the solar panels. Clean park, shower and washrooms clean. Lake busy on the labor day weekend. Local stores and supplies very close to the campground. Definitely be back here.

Great location near Mammoth Cave and Cave City, lots of local attractions. The sites are typical of a Army Corp. sites, gravel pads, fire pit and picnic table. Most site will give you a view of the lake. I didn't really see to may sites they were level, my site required 4 inches on one side to level. They have two dump stations, which is a nice option, when it gets crowded. Fire wood is available for $5.50 a bundle, they also have a small farmers market on site. This was actually really handy and I used it a few times, once for a tomato for hamburgers and the other was bell pepper for omelets. Overall a good camp ground, it would be a great camp ground if they had more level sites and maybe even paved sites.

We had fun , because of being with family and friends. But the upkeep of the over grown grass was terrible. The grass had been cut but trimming has not been done in quite awhile. It was the worst of any camp ground I have ever been to.

We rented C38 AND C39 FOR THE 4 DAY LABOR DAY WEEKEND OF 2021. WE HAD OUR FAMILY FROM ANOTHER STATE COME IN TO SPEND THE WEEKEND WITH US. THEY HAVE A N 18 MONTH INFANT THAT CAME ALONG. WE ARRIVED AFTER DARK THE FIRST NIGHT AND AWOKE THE NEXT MORNING TO FIND OUR INFANT COVERED WITH TINY RED TICKS THAT WERE ALMOST INVISDSIBLE. AFETR MORE CAREFIUL INSPECTION, WE FOUND ALL OF US ADULTS HAD NUMEROUS TICKS ON OUR BODIES. I CONTACTED THE GATEHOUSE OFFICIALS AND THEY TOLD US THEY HAD INFORMED THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS MANY TIMES ABOUT THE PROBLEM TO NO AVAIL. I CONTACTED THE PARK RANGERS AND THEY TOLD ME "THIS IS KENTUCKY. WE HAVE TICKS." NO NOTICE WAS EVER GIVEN VIA RESERVATION SITE ABOUT THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND THE RANGER TOLD ME THEY NEVER FUMIGATE OR SPRAY. BEWARE!! THE CAVALIER ATTITUDE THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS HAS TAKEN ABOUT THIS MAY BE QUITE DEVASTATING TO SOME'S HEALTH LONG TERM. AT LEAST A WARNING WHILE RESERVING SHOULD BE IN ORDER. HOW MANY GO HOME ONLY TO FIND THEY HAVE A DEVASTATING HEALTH ISSUE DUE TO LYME, OR OTHER DISEASE? WE CANCELLED OUR FOLLOWING TWO DAYS AND WENT TO GREEN RIVER RECREATION SITE WHERE WE ENCOUNTERED NO PROBLEMS. WE HAD TO COMPLETELY SANITIZE ALL OF OUR EQUIPMENT, BEDDING AND CLOTHING FROM THE MOTAURDIER EXPERIENCE. TOO BAD. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL AREA.
