We stay at this site, E-4, several times during the summer months and absolutely love it. The reason for the 2 stars this time is, we just want everyone to be aware “DO NOT RESERVE” this site during the last 2 weeks of July through at least the first 2 weeks of August. There is a hickory tree over the camper spot and squirrels cut the nuts during this time. We completely forgot about this when we reserved it, as it has happened to us before at this site. We had to leave 2 days early because we were afraid of damage to our RV. The nuts kept falling and it sounded like bombs going off when they hit the camper, kind of like a hail storm. Until they trim the tree back, which will probably never happen, we will no longer reserve it during this time of year. 🥲

Holly bay campground is our second favorite to Twinknobs. Laurel River Lake is beautiful, aqua blue, clean, and clear!

Hosts were nice. Came around every so often to ask if we needed anything. The A bathrooms could be cleaner. Seems the same nasty spots were in the toilets each day. Would be nice to be able to find a host when needed. And no one is ever at the front window. Holly bay has always been nice and clean. Our site could have used more gravel and the water pressure was too low to use in the camper. 4 stars because we love holly bay. But there can be room for changes

We have been camping there for years. Things have changed a bunch in the last couple years not for the better , definitely not happy with the reservation part ,not happy with the hosts ,

From London, Kentucky, take Exit 38 off I-75. Turn west on KY 192, then go 14.2 miles and turn south (left) on KY 1193. Follow signs to Holly Bay Campground entrance (3 miles).

Policies & Rules
General
- Each single campsite is limited to 6 people and 2 vehicles.Double sites are limited to 12 people and 4 vehicles.Cars, trucks, trailers, boats, motorcycles ,etc. ARE considered vehicles. One boat or trailer per site only.All vehicles must be parked in designated parking areas only. Parking on roadsides, grass, or non-designated areas is not permitted.If space allows, additional vehicles may be permitted for a $10 fee per vehicle. However, extra vehicles may be refused if parking is not available.All additional vehicles must exit the campground by , unless parked in an approved designated parking area.Guests are responsible for ensuring their party complies with all occupancy and vehicle limits.
- Pet Policy – Dogs must be kept on a visible leash at all times. Electronic fence collars are not allowed.
- Reserve Your Site Carefully – Make sure the site you choose can accommodate your equipment. The site you reserve is yours; moving to another site is not allowed.
- Boat & Trailer Policy – Only one boat and trailer per campsite is allowed due to limited space at the boat ramp and within the campsites. Boat Trailers Count as a vehicle.
- Electric Surcharge – Electric hookups include a surcharge in the campsite price.
- Occupancy Limits – Maximum of 6 campers per single site.

- Bear Safety – Bears frequent in the area. Keep all food in approved containers at all times to protect yourself and wildlife.
- Firewood Guidelines – Don’t move firewood! Help protect our forests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. To learn more, visit Don't Move Firewood
