Mammoth cave is a wonder to experience. I wish there was a comprehensive tour that combined a few similar tours together like the River Styx and the Extended Historic Tour as it would only add a few minutes and really take care of the major sections at one time. If you do both - you will be disappointed. The campground closest to the cave is good with a lot of amenities - I'd consider it a good family style campground. When I visited, some of the hiking trails needed some cleanup with fallen trees and such but I think there were recent storms so I cannot saw if this was common on those trails or not. Nevertheless, even with some rain while there, I had a great time camping, hiking, and touring the cave.

great campground, was very quiet during the week but did fill up during the weekend, not sure if this is the normal pattern or because of the gov't shutdown, but would definitely visit again

We camped at site 3. It was in a great location close to the camp store and restrooms. Perfect for kids. As lifelong visitors of Mammoth Cave, we enjoyed our favorites including walking to the Lodge and the Green River Bluffs trail.

The campground was clean and welcoming, even during the shutdown. The park rangers were doing everything they could to make things available. Hiking was great and volunteers in the area were around to inform visitors of the surrounding private cave tours. I look forward to returning to Mammoth Cave when the park system is open. Thank you National Parks and the rangers that keep it safe and open
