What Guests Are Saying
Mammoth Cave Campground is well-managed, clean, and offers ample amenities, including running water in restrooms and access to nearby hiking trails and a restaurant. Campers appreciate the spacious sites, friendly staff, and the outstanding cave tours available, making for an enjoyable experience. However, some amenities, like coin-operated showers and certain campgrounds, could use updates, and reservations for guided tours are highly recommended due to their popularity.

This is one of our favorite national park campgrounds. Site 45 is a corner outer loop site with lots of room. The campground sites overall have lots of space. Deer wander through the campground. THE BATHROOM IS AIR CONDITIONED! It’s also always been very clean whenever we visit. There are pay showers and a small laundromat at the camp store. Cell phone coverage is weak but there is wifi at the campground entrance kiosk and the camp store.

Great place to camp. We'll maintained bathrooms (showers are a bit pricey, but not horrible). Cave city is near by with anything and even you could want or need.

Clean and quiet campground. Bathrooms clean. Excellent location near general store and also near visitor center. We had a great time!

Too crowded, the groups taken down in the caves were too big. The 2nd tour i took i could not keep up with the tour guide bc others infront of me kept taking selfies. I missed almost all of the tour.
The camp site I stayed at the 1st night on site i was by the group that had 8 kids (under 7 yrs old) at it stayed up past 2200. There wasnt any staff there to assist.
Back country is NOT maintained/forgotten about because its less traveled. I tried staying in the back country the 2nd night. Road and trail not kept. Had to talk in a gully if there was a snake i would have gotten bitten, and way too narrow for horses. I did not bring a horse either almost too narrow for a person.
I go camping for the quite not all the noise. This is more like an amusement park. I was glad to leave early.

Close enough to walk to the visitor center. Clean bathrooms. Pay shower just long enough to wash hair.

Loved how clean the campground was and the proximity to the visitor's center and the mammoth cave tours. I was disappointed with the bike trail. I thought it would be a smoother ride but it was gravel and not well taken care of. I was unable to ride it with my e-bike.

Beautiful campground, I’d love to go back some day. Plenty of fun things to do at the park with hiking and tours of the cave, and the campground is a quick 10 minute walk from the park visitor center. The camp store has all the necessities if you forget anything, but I do wish they were open just a little later. You have to pay for the showers, but it’s reasonably priced and the water pressure is better than at my apartment so it’s well worth it. My only complaint is that I wish I could have stayed longer so I could have seen some of the neat attractions in town nearby.
