What Guests Are Saying
Axtel campground is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, particularly Vickie, who ensures a pleasant experience for visitors. Many families enjoy the quiet atmosphere, spacious campsites with easy access to water activities, and a welcoming community of fellow campers. However, some guests noted issues such as low water levels, closed restrooms, and occasional noise, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences reported.

Beautiful campground nestled right on the lake. Plenty of shade at many sights. Privacy is good at some sites. My only complaint comes with the bathrooms needing updating, but I hear that is coming soon?

It seems the Park Host is now a volunteer and mostly unavailable. Park Rangers are rarely seen, even on weekends. Axtel closed down the E-Section for a few years in the past due to unwanted behavior. It seems that the COE may be unwittingly inviting this behavior back due to saving money? There was no soap available in the F Section bathhouse. Is the COE really that broke? While our stay was really enjoyable, crippling security in this day and age is ill-advised.

Campground is very nice. Beach was in good shape. Kids like the playgrounds. Bathrooms were a little busy at times due to one bath house being removed. Overall good experience.

Axtel is one of our favorite campgrounds. Even with the storms and rain we still had a great time. Very well maintained. The volunteer hostess was friendly and helpful. Several local restaurants around.

We loved this campground. We stayed at f120, right next to the beach, and the bath house is right across the street.
Be warned on checkout days you are down hill from the rv dump station 🥴
Also the bath house could have used some cleaning.
Other than that we will be regular campers here!

Men’s restroom was nasty. Someone was very ill in one of the stalls before we arrived Friday and it was never cleaned before we left Monday. By Monday there was no paper in the other stalls either. Volunteer was great tho. Very nice lady.
