What Guests Are Saying
Axtel campground is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, particularly Vickie, who ensures a pleasant experience for visitors. Many families enjoy the quiet atmosphere, spacious campsites with easy access to water activities, and a welcoming community of fellow campers. However, some guests noted issues such as low water levels, closed restrooms, and occasional noise, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences reported.

Good cell service, nice site, bathroom/shower area could use a little updating and cleaning ( lots of bugs, cob webs). Water pressure was decent, took a little warm up time, and half way through my shower water went cold , then warmed up again. Shower head placement is in the corner and wasn’t adjustable, so you had to hug the wall to get water flow on your head and body, it was doable just awkward. We camped during the week, it was quiet and peaceful. Definitely want to return. Oh one last thing… only one dump station (one sided) can’t even imagine checkout/dumping on the weekends 😳

Wonderful campground. Had great cell service there with T-Mobile. Great fishing 6 min away at spillway. Camp host very nice. Learned the beach will be back around the end of May!

Loved this campground.. all site have a view of the lake. Most of them are right on the lake. The shower house was clean, the showers were a little small, hard not to touch a wall while washing.

The grass needs to be cut.

Grass hadn’t been cut this year at all. Ticks were horrible due to that lack of maintenance on the grounds.

This was my 1st stay at Axtel. The bathhouse was clean, and the hostess was friendly. All the campsites appeared to be in good condition. We will come back here.

Dump station should be farther apart from each other so the line would go quicker and more efficiently.
