We had an amazing site at Axtel. We were on A24 and we were in close proximity to the playground as well as fishing and areas for the kids. We will definitely be back.

Taking in consideration the flooding and the deep cuts of funding to the US Army Corps of Engineers, I strongly feel the staff at Rough River Axtel and surrounding campsites are doing a excellent job. Site was extremely clean and trimmed for our stay. Well done.

The bathrooms are disgusting. Make sure you have shoes and something to lay your toiletries. The grass is only cut a couple times
A month. Nicks boat dock is across the street for anything you may need to purchase. locally owned restaurants with lots of comfort food.
We normally use the boat ramp at Laurel Branch. Axtel is shallow.
