What Guests Are Saying
Axtel campground is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, particularly Vickie, who ensures a pleasant experience for visitors. Many families enjoy the quiet atmosphere, spacious campsites with easy access to water activities, and a welcoming community of fellow campers. However, some guests noted issues such as low water levels, closed restrooms, and occasional noise, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences reported.

Our site 127 was clean and shaded. not too far from garbage bins and dump station. We had a beautiful view of the lake.

Beautiful campground! One of my favorite so far. Well maintained and host always available if needed. Like the spacing between campsites which provides more privacy. Will definitely return

My adult children and I camped in tents on 3 lots (2,3, & 15) . The area was very clean and the park managers drove around and spoke with us a few times making sure our stay was going well. The beach was accessible to campers, and the atmosphere was very friendly. My only "complaint" is with myself because I didn't know the campgrounds, and lot 2 was completely in the sun so my pregnant DIL was miserable. (LOT 3 was in the sun during the hot afternoon hours, but was bearable at night). We are planning to go back again during the cooler months so we walked the campground and wrote down some different lots.

We love camping at Axtel. The sites have decent sizes. As long as you follow the rules then everything should go as planned. My only complaint is the bathrooms sometimes. But I realized it has a lot to do with the campers more and the cleaners less.

Park Attendants are great! They have been very friendly! The reason we rated poor is the condition of the park. The grass is half mowed if at all? Also, the firepits are full of trash and campsites have dog or geese poop all over them. We have to clean our site everytime before we can let our dogs out so they are not exposed to other animal's feces. Can there be some check point for sites as each person leaves to hold the prior camper accountable? Park in the last couple years has not been maintained and campers not held accountable.

The campground is slumping this year. The bathrooms are not cleaned on weekends like last year.

Axtel is a nice campground. However, The beach needs to have several truckloads of sand. It is sand and mud at the moment.

Every time I stay at Axtel, I can always count on the friendly people there. I have been down many times and have never had an issue that was not quickly fixed. Wonderful place and plan on staying here many more times.

We stayed in spot C48. It was paved and we had just enough room for our 37 ft camper and one vehicle. We had a lake view with plenty of room between spots. Staff was incredibly nice. Would stay there again!
