What Guests Are Saying
Axtel campground is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, particularly Vickie, who ensures a pleasant experience for visitors. Many families enjoy the quiet atmosphere, spacious campsites with easy access to water activities, and a welcoming community of fellow campers. However, some guests noted issues such as low water levels, closed restrooms, and occasional noise, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences reported.

We had a water view and the weather was just amazing all week. We love camping in the Fall. My disappointment is that Axtel doesn't stay open in the month of November. Its to beautiful not be be enjoyed more in the Fall weather. I really don't like camping in the hot summer time.

A hidden gem in Central Kentucky. Lots of scenic sites and great views. Some place I'd definitely go to again.

Wonderful campsites with most sites have very good views of the lake. Campground was very clean along with clean bathhouses. I would still recommend this campground as the D/E bathhouse was supposed to be closed for the season but was still open for convenience. The camp hosts were a great source of information and friendly.

Great stay in (045) campsite, on water. Campground was clean, easily accessible. Restroom/shower nearest us had some tiles missing in shower, door was propped open so a good bit of debris was blowing into restroom, but still useable. Even though located in rural area, there was a couple of restaurants, gas, hardware store with everything located very close. Enjoyed our stay and will probably go back next year.
