What Guests Are Saying
Axtel campground is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, particularly Vickie, who ensures a pleasant experience for visitors. Many families enjoy the quiet atmosphere, spacious campsites with easy access to water activities, and a welcoming community of fellow campers. However, some guests noted issues such as low water levels, closed restrooms, and occasional noise, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences reported.

over all good camp ground . most of it was flooded when we were there so very quite ( half the grounds were closed ) bathhouses where clean with good hot water . our spot was decently level and shaded. good spacing between spots , however no where to spread out due to the slopes of the grounds . pretty dark if pulling in at night so be prepared to take a little longer to back in unless you have good lighting .
over all though we would stay here again

Very nice campground. Beach, swimming area. Large boat dock across the road. Nick's Boat Dock and Marina is also across the road.
If you stay at the front of the campground where the check in area is, there is VERY NOISY equipment that runs 24 hours a day that rarely shuts off. It makes it difficult to hear when you are outside.

Well laid out campground where most of the sites have a good view of the lake. Always popular and sometimes tough to get a spot, but great campsites at great angles for backing in. Mostly level and plenty of bath houses located throughout the campground.

The campground was nice. The camp attendants didn’t check sites between checkout/checkin. They also weren’t very pleasant. As long as you don’t mind cleaning up what the last camper left & don’t need to deal with the attendant (other than checking in) it’s great.
