What Guests Are Saying
Axtel campground is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, particularly Vickie, who ensures a pleasant experience for visitors. Many families enjoy the quiet atmosphere, spacious campsites with easy access to water activities, and a welcoming community of fellow campers. However, some guests noted issues such as low water levels, closed restrooms, and occasional noise, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences reported.

The campground is great however the Campground Host isn't very polite. She can be rude and sometimes hateful. Other than her the campground is great.

My husband and I took our boys camping for the first time since our youngest was 7 months old. He’s almost 15. So it’s been a while. We were so pleased that we made the decision to camp at the Axtel campground. The spot we had choose was perfect. The beach area was nice. Overall the campground was very clean; with the exception being the beach area. We picked up half a trash bag of trash. I would suggest a metal trash barrel be put there to make disposing of trash during your visit easier. I would have given this a 5 star, except that the shower house was closed the entire time that we were there. Since we were tent camping we did not have a camper to shower in. We only stayed for three days and 2 nights this time, would have liked to stay longer, but glad we didn’t with the lack of showers. Maybe saving painting for the fall or spring would be wiser. It sure would have been nice to do more than wash off in the bathroom sinks. Hoping to do a full week next year!!

The campground is our favorite. We go every year. This year we had 9 of our grandchildren with us and they all loved it and can’t wait to go again ! The gentleman that runs the campground is awesome.

We love it at Axtel. It's a home away from home for us. Wish the shower houses were better, but we look past it because everything else is great!
