What Guests Are Saying
Axtel campground is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, particularly Vickie, who ensures a pleasant experience for visitors. Many families enjoy the quiet atmosphere, spacious campsites with easy access to water activities, and a welcoming community of fellow campers. However, some guests noted issues such as low water levels, closed restrooms, and occasional noise, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences reported.

The park hosts are fabulous! They are so helpful and friendly. The sites are clean and well taken care of. My only complaint is the fish cleaning station is out of service.

I had a great time and the camp site was nice! The only thing was a loud pump sound was annoying.

Campground was quite nice. Campsite was clean, level, and good size. Our site was paved and this was a plus. Beach was nice. Bathrooms needed a little more attention. Would recommend.

We had sites 110 and 111. Small travel trailer on one and large tent on the other. Easy access down to the water for kayaks and fishing. Amazing views on three sides. Restrooms not too far away. Bath house a little further. Highly recommend the campground and these particular sites.

Overall, my experience was decent. The campsite was nice and near the water; however, we were located next to a very large group that was not at all quite after quite hours. They made it near impossible to sleep until about 1am. The staff isn't the friendliest and the Saturday of Memorial day weekend there was no toilet paper the entire day. My suggestion would be to bring earplugs and plenty of toilet paper.

The only campground was partially closed due to flooding. We enjoyed our time there as we met very nice campers as we usually do there. The only negative thing was the bathhouse in G needs to be redone. The walls are peeling and the shower in the handicap needs a new 🚿.
