Bathrooms wasn't open on my loop. Bathrooms that was open were nasty. Also, all ways hard to get spots F112, F113, F114. Any special time to get these.

We were on spot C44. It is a good spot. Some tree limbs need to be trimmed by the camper spot. We had some trouble getting our awing out because of this. Other than that everything was great.

Axtel is a great campground, the Campground Hosts are always awesome, great sites, beautiful water views. You can bring your kayak, beach your boat or Jet Ski or just head down to the beach! Nick's boat dock/boat launch is right across the street and there is plenty of trailer parking at Axtel. We go there every year for my Birthday and use sites F110 and F111. There is a Liquor Store, 2 local restaurants, a gas station, Fentress Marine and a Dollar Store all within a 1/4 mile so you won't run out of anything! Enjoy!

Axtel is a great campground, the Campground Hosts are always awesome, great sites, beautiful water views. You can bring your kayak, beach your boat or Jet Ski or just head down to the beach! Nick's boat dock/boat launch is right across the street and there is plenty of trailer parking at Axtel. We go there every year for my Birthday and use sites F110 and F111. Axtel is the best! The sites are great! Very level. The bath houses are always clean when we are there. We love having the campers only beach. I would be there every weekend if I could!

Begin at ramp onto I-64 West toward New Albany/St. Louis, traveling 22.3 miles. Take the IN-135, Exit Number 105, toward Palmyra/Corydon, onto IN-135 South toward Corydon, traveling 16.7 miles. Continue on Bypass Road KY-79 for 2.1 miles. Turn right onto KY-79, traveling 10.1 miles. Continue on 1st Avenue, KY-79S for 495 feet. Turn a slight right onto US-60, traveling 11.8 miles. Turn left onto KY-259/KY-79, traveling 9.7 miles. Turn right to stay on KY-79, traveling .7 miles. End at 663 South Highway 79, McDaniels, KY. Distance is approximately 74 miles with an approximate travel time of 1 hour, 20 minutes.

General
- Off-road vehicles are not permitted
- Park Attendant can be reached while on duty at (270) 257-2584. If no answer, contact the Rough River Lake U.S. Army Corps of Engineers office at (270) 257-2061.
- $5 per day boat ramp fee
- Reservations will not be marked in advance at the campsite. Do not set up at any campsite without reserving the site first.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- Generators and other noise-producing devices must be turned off during this time.
