What Guests Are Saying
Axtel campground is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, particularly Vickie, who ensures a pleasant experience for visitors. Many families enjoy the quiet atmosphere, spacious campsites with easy access to water activities, and a welcoming community of fellow campers. However, some guests noted issues such as low water levels, closed restrooms, and occasional noise, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences reported.

Fantastic campground - even with social distancing! Jo and Don are terrific at getting folks in and out and taking care of any issues! Across the street is Nick's Boatdock and they have the best prices going on staples and refreshments! We look forward to every trip to Rough River knowing we're staying at a fantastic campground and love the sites!

Terrific campground - sites are not on top of each other (think parking lot campgrounds) and staff is fantastic! Right across from Nick's Marina which has lower prices on items than we pay in the city! Can't wait to go back!

The camp site was dirty had not been cleaned up and the fire pit hadn't been shoveled out in a long time. everything else was good.

Social distancing is easy at this campground because the sites are spaced very far apart. Jo and Don do an excellent job at the front gate of getting everyone in and to their campsites in a very speedy check-in process! Thanks!

Camp hosts are friendly and thoughtful! As I was pulling in to the entrance with a 5th wheel. Another camper and car were getting checked in, Instead of letting me sit in line with the back of my camper almost in the road, Another camp host waved me around to the exit lane, checked me in and got me on my way. Really appreciated this! Campgrounds are well maintained and clean. Our favorite place to camp!
