Please put air conditioning in the restrooms. Everything is perfect besides sweating in the bathroom no matter the reason we have to enter.

We had an overall good experience camping at the Axtel campground during our 3 night stay in June, 2021. The gate staff were friendly, professional & very helpful. The Park Ranger was diligent in his duties of enforcement of campground rules pertaining to vehicle parking. The restrooms, while kept clean, were in need of replacement commodes as the automatic flush systems sometimes did not flush!!
The dump station is not set up to allow for more than one camper to dump at a time , unless possibly there were 2 small campers, which thankfully did not create issues for us thanks to there not being but two campers ahead of us, but could have otherwise. The service at the adjacent Nick’s Marina was outstanding! All in all, we had a great experience & we look forward to returning to Axtel next season.

the bathrooms were out of toilet paper all day sunday. If there is not going to be anyone cleaning and restocking on sunday then someone should at lease restock toilet paper saturday evening. I called the toll house sunday morning to let them know we were out of toilet paper , but it made no difference. Also I think that the idle speed bouys should be moved out away from shore farther from the campground because the waves comming to shore are way too big and really beat up my boat on the rocks on shore.

The campground is great however the Campground Host isn't very polite. She can be rude and sometimes hateful. Other than her the campground is great.

My husband and I took our boys camping for the first time since our youngest was 7 months old. He’s almost 15. So it’s been a while. We were so pleased that we made the decision to camp at the Axtel campground. The spot we had choose was perfect. The beach area was nice. Overall the campground was very clean; with the exception being the beach area. We picked up half a trash bag of trash. I would suggest a metal trash barrel be put there to make disposing of trash during your visit easier. I would have given this a 5 star, except that the shower house was closed the entire time that we were there. Since we were tent camping we did not have a camper to shower in. We only stayed for three days and 2 nights this time, would have liked to stay longer, but glad we didn’t with the lack of showers. Maybe saving painting for the fall or spring would be wiser. It sure would have been nice to do more than wash off in the bathroom sinks. Hoping to do a full week next year!!
