When we arrived. I’m assuming because their is no guard at the gate anymore, people parked down at the boat ramp and walked to the camp sites and were loud, abnoxious, left trash everywhere, around 15 people. Using vulgar language around my 4/6 year old. The last two visits I’ve came has been awful with loud and in humane people and no respect and trash everywhere. Where the experience before people were camping at spot 63/64. No Sherrie no park ranger comes through in the weekends and it shows. The park has gotten awful. I’ve been coming here for 20 years and am looking for new camp sites. It’s really getting out of control

Two out of three restrooms were closed. The campground was packed on the weekend we were there. The facility left open could not come close to handling the amount of people. Toilet paper ran out on Saturday and someone clogged the handicap toilet on Sunday. We left the next thursday and this toilet was still locked and unfixed. This was unacceptable having two facilities closed for the season. Especially since there seemed to be no work being done on them. Other than that, our stay was fine - albeit daggone hot! The weather is not the Corp's fault at least......

We have been to North Fork with our family (multiple campers at multiple camping sites) many times over the past five years. The grounds and bathhouses are well maintained, but in the past, we have not felt welcomed when checking in or out. The individuals who worked at the entrance were rude and very short with us when we had questions, and all our family members agreed that if we had questions or concerns, it was best to not even try approaching the gate for answers.
This year, however, a wonderful volunteer is working at the entrance, and she has made ALL the difference in our visits. She is friendly and maintains a positive, welcoming attitude. She also regularly moves around the campground greeting each camper and asking if we need anything or have questions. She also invites us to contact her by phone if we have concerns after hours. Please insure this individual is at the gate each year! She has made all the difference!

We Highly recommend this campground!! It’s beautiful, safe, family friendly, and the staff is incredibly sweet!!!! We were there for 3 days / 2 nights last week, and this sweet lady brought my kids bubbles and popsicles and slime and a wood coloring activity! That made my kids entire trip even more special!! Thank you North Fork for the great experience! We will be back time and time again!!! Every time we go there, it gets better and better! :-) I appreciate them circling around and checking on people too but not badgering anyone either. Worth booking!

We have missed camping since Covid hit and we purchased our new camper in 2020 and this was the first time using it. Since our last camping trip to this campground there is a new park manager and I have to say that she is absolutely a breath of fresh air to the campground. She not only cares about the appearance of the grounds, which was the best it has looked in the 30 plus years I have camped at Northfork, she also gave my granddaughters and other children crafting items to paint or color which she supplied everything. It would be nice to have a pavilion on the grounds maybe around the playground where kids can go at certain times for crafting, karaoke, or maybe even a movie night with popcorn, which a nice popcorn machine is inexpensive. She would be so good at that and it would give everyone a chance to meet new people and plan return visits! I have always loved camping and I think it would a great way to get children off the phones and socialize with others and enjoy the beauty of nature and the outdoors. Camper’s are a whole different group of people that are caring and willing to offer you help if you need it! In a world of such hatred, it’s nice to relax and enjoy nature and sitting by the campfire. All this said, We will continue to only camp at northfork A008 for years to come!
