What Guests Are Saying
Zilpo Campground is praised for its beautiful location, cleanliness, and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite for many long-time visitors. While some amenities, such as hot water availability and maintenance support, have declined, most campers still enjoy the private, serene sites and the access to outdoor activities like hiking and fishing. However, issues like noise from other campers and limited store supplies have been noted, highlighting areas for improvement.

This is the first year I have stayed in the G loop. Each previous stay was in the H loop. Our campsite was G019. It was infested with ticks. So many ticks, that we ended up leaving 1 day earlier than planned. Our friends at other spots in G loop had minimal issues with ticks. Our group had a lot of tick bites and the pups had ticks as well. I personally removed over 100 ticks from myself as they were crawling before biting. We will not be returning to this site in the future. We may consider getting a cabin in the future but this was a horrifying experience. I loved camping and our previous stays in H loop were awesome. It is going to take time to get over these ticks and wanting to be in wooded areas.

Fairly nice area although very remote. This is not a good place to visit if you have a tall rig. The trees are low and need trimming at all areas in all loops. If your rig is much over 10 feet tall you will have trouble with low trees.

Definitely bring your floats so you can relax in the lake. If you don't have a site on the water they have a really nice beach. Kids can play in the sand. Fishing is good. I have a small boat which is nice for getting around the lake.

We stayed at the E loop in the campground. We didn't realize the bathroom was closed until we got there. We had to walk or drive to a different loop to use the restroom - not the end of the world, just would have been nice to know before booking our campsite. We also found several ticks on us while just standing around the campsite and when we got home. Pretty alarming to say the least. It's enough to make me not want to go back to this campground in the summer. I would recommend being very careful and using plenty of bug protection.
