Not allowed to drive my mobility scooter so wasn’t able to do a lot of walking.

We stayed 4 nights in mid-April. Staff (and recreation.gov) were very helpful in making last minute changes to our dates of stay. Special thanks to Teresa in the office. Staff also came to each site with weather info before a night of huge thunderstorms. Parking pads built above the shore provided nice views of the lake. Other sites are along the road with picnic tables and fire rings on a separate terrace. Unusual arrangement so check pictures before booking those. Angle on the dump station required some creative parking. Bathrooms and camping area clean and attended. In nearby Nancy, KY, we enjoyed great coffee at Battlefield Coffee and excellent cider donuts and fried apple pies at Haney's Appledale Farm. Walmart, groceries and many restaurants in Somerset.

Fishing Creek campground is just beautiful, overlooking the lake and nestled in the woods. The campground host, Teresa and Gene, are awesome! They are so kind, knowledgeable and always ready to help if needed. Don't miss this one if you get the opportunity!

Fishing Creek is pretty close to home so it’s convenient. The host this year seems very nice.

The views and the lake make this campground a great option if you can reserve two sites. Most of the sites are very tight and very very close to one another. I don't think we would be back unless we had to for some reason. It has a lot of potential. I just don't like sitting on top of my neighbors.

Site 31 is beautiful and very large. Lots of trees and nestled in the corner of the campground. Being as it's back in a corner, it's recommended approach in reverse due to a sharp uphill switchback in the campground which makes an awkward angle to get into the site. If you come in against the 1 way, you'll do the switchback and make the curve and then back straight into the site. It's mostly level.
