We always love camping at BDC! All of the sites are large with a lot of space between campsites. Hiking trails are well kept. 20 min from stores. Water and electricity are oddly placed so make sure you have plenty water hose. Just a nice quiet place to relax. We just spent 8 days here and it was so peaceful. Firewood is hard to come by. A quick search on FB marketplace and you will find a guy 5 minutes away more than happy to deliver what you need. All local wood

Every Veterans Day for the last 4 years myself and some fellow veterans have stayed at Beaver Dam Campground and we love it. Big tall Pines, nice level campsites, clean grounds, a couple nice trails, beautiful lakes to fish in, and friendly camp hosts have made it a great place to stay. My only complaint would be the bathrooms and showers. The bathrooms are clean and serviceable but are outdated and in severe need of renovation. Since the current campground host Mike took over they have improved in cleanliness and serviceability. However, one BIG problem is that the locks on the doors are totally unserviceable or missing. For example, one of the showers closest to campsite 13 has no lock at all, so good luck on not being walked in on. The men's bathroom near the same campsite has a simple bolt latch where one has to lift up on the door to make it work. If you can get it to lock the door frame is so loose that it can be pushed in. The showers are standalone unisex units separate from the bathrooms. I'm not sure how the locks are in the women's bathrooms (I am a male) or the other showers in the campgrounds as I did not visit them all. However, since we are tent campers, my wife will not camp with me here because of the bathrooms and I'm unhappy bout that as this campground is a hidden gem. Finally, if you are an RV camper and have a bathroom and shower in your unit, definitely visit the piney hills of north Louisiana and find respite at Beaver Dam Campground.

Great park, large sites that are shaded. The only negative thing is the condition of the roads in the park. I will stay there again and enjoy the lake and quiet that is here.
