Sun Outdoors New Orleans North Shore

We had a great stay at Sun Outdoors! The resort has such a beautiful lazy river, a kids splash park, and an impressive wooden playground built in the trees by the beach.

The sites were spacious, and we appreciated that the laundry facilities were conveniently located in the same building as the showers. The location is close to everything you need and only about an hour’s drive to New Orleans, which made for a perfect day trip.

With amenities like a basketball court, mini golf, and even a short bike ride to the gas station, there is no shortage of family fun at this Sun Outdoors! The week we spent here was truly memorable, thanks for the great stay!

We just had the BEST time at **Sun Outdoors New Orleans North Shore**, and we’re already planning our next trip back!

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel right at home. Robert, Sarah, Pam, and Janie were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and genuinely kind. You can tell they truly care about the guests and take pride in keeping everything running smoothly. A special shoutout to maintenance man Mark as well — he was quick, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. The whole team goes above and beyond.

The bartenders — Kat, Molly, and Maggie — were absolutely wonderful! Not only do they make fantastic drinks, but they also create such a fun, relaxed atmosphere. They’re friendly, attentive, and truly make you feel like you’re hanging out with friends.

One of the highlights of our stay was the amazing karaoke show with Mike and Jessica. (Although I may be a little bias, haha!) They brought so much energy and fun to the evening! Whether you were singing your heart out or just cheering everyone on, it was such a great time and really brought everyone together.

This is also a fantastic snowbird destination. The welcoming community, full calendar of activities, and warm Louisiana hospitality make it the perfect place to spend the season. What really makes it special, though, is the people — by the time you leave, it feels less like a campground and more like family.

The park itself is clean, well-maintained, and full of things to do, but it’s truly the staff and community that set it apart. If you’re looking for a fun, friendly, and memorable getaway near New Orleans — especially for the winter season — Sun Outdoors New Orleans North Shore is the place to be. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We truly enjoyed this winter more than any we’ve spent before, and so much of that is thanks to this wonderful resort. From the moment we arrived, the manager, assistant manager, office team, park staff, and bartenders made us feel welcomed and cared for. Everyone here goes above and beyond, and it really shows in the warm, friendly atmosphere throughout the park.
One of the most special parts of our stay was the people. We've met many strangers who quickly became friends—and by the end of the season, they felt like family. The sense of community here is something you don’t find everywhere, and it made our time even more meaningful.
The resort itself is beautiful, with great amenities and everything kept exceptionally clean and well maintained. It’s clear that a lot of pride and care go into making this such a comfortable and enjoyable place to spend the winter. We are so grateful for the memories we made and are already looking forward to coming back.

We stayed here 5 nights. The park is very nice and it has great amenities. There are two bathroom/laundry facilities , game room, camp store, two pools, a lazy river and dog park. They rent golf carts or you can bring your own. The reason for the 3 stars is because the golf carts drive around like crazy especially at night.The at night you can get run over because some of the younger people do not follow the rules. We were a distance from the bathrooms and had to walk. The one night as I was walking there, I had my phone out with the flashlight on so people could see me. A golf cart with about 4 young men in came around the corner. There were no lights on the golf cart. I had to jump back even though I was not really in the road. They yelled at me like it was my fault even though they were speeding through the park. The speed limit in the park it 5 miles an hour but the golf carts do not follow this rule.

Thanks to the whole crew, Mark, Rob, Sarah, and of course Cath and Molly the bartenders (and the other ones). We decided to stay 5 months here after one week in the park. Community is awesome, place is so well maintained, activities for kids, arcades, putt putt, pickleball, KARAOKE!!! wonderful view on the lake, so much to talk about this place. I highly recommend this camping ground for short and long term but let me be honest with you, you might as well book for more than a week; we all fall in love with this place! Make sure to be here for the New Year’s Eve!!! They make things big down here. First time ever in Louisiana and let me tell you. I am coming back right here to sun outdoors every year now.
