We loved our stay here! We booked on hip camp.com. It was a quick overnight on a long road trip but the animal sanctuary caught our attention!

You do need to make sure you have clear expectations. It's not a typical campground. The family home is part of it and the bathroom and shower are separate but attached to the main home.

Each camp site it private and have a couple different options for amenities depending what you are looking for. From primitive camp to tent provided!

There is an extra sink, counter and microwave accessible as well.

The animals are all over. The dogs are sooooo sweet and lovey. There are goats, emus, turkeys, chickens, roosters, peacocks, horses, cats, dogs.

We did arrive late at night it was dark and despite the very clear instructions for arrival we struggled finding the camp spots. The hosts responded quickly and guided us to our options!

It was an amazing experience. It was quiet peaceful and beautifully dark! We would definitely return!

“Travel with Rolando” and “Adventures with Bella” at Snow White Sanctuary 🐾🌿

Our stay at Snow White Sanctuary was a truly heart-warming experience — a peaceful, inclusive oasis tucked away at the end of a quiet country road, surrounded by Louisiana’s lush wetlands. Bella and I discovered this special place through Harvest Hosts, but it’s also available on Airbnb and HipCamp, making it easy for travelers of all kinds to enjoy.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by kind, generous hosts and an inspiring atmosphere where compassion and care are at the heart of everything. The property spans 24 beautiful acres filled with ponds, trees, and open spaces where wildlife flourishes alongside rescued farm animals. As supporters of the Habitat Recovery Project, the sanctuary blends natural preservation with a deep commitment to animal welfare.

Each day began with peaceful hikes and ended with sunsets reflected in the still water. Bella and I had an absolute blast meeting and photographing the sanctuary’s resident dogs — Uhtred, Lagatha, Layla, Waffles, and a sweet new puppy we instantly fell in love with. We also met some extraordinary gentle giants: Callie, the senior retired Hanoverian mare, and Zeus, the spirited Azteca Mustang, along with many other rescued animals that call this sanctuary home.

The RV accommodations were fantastic — flat, grassy waterfront sites with 30-amp hookups, a cozy fire circle, and access to a clean, private bath with a shower and tub. Between the quiet surroundings, the warm community, and the natural beauty, it felt like staying in a living, breathing work of art.

Snow White Sanctuary isn’t just a stop along the road; it’s a place that fills you with gratitude and peace. Whether you come to volunteer, relax, or simply reconnect with nature, this sanctuary will stay in your heart long after you leave.

Wow!!! What an amazing experience we had with Ocean and Alyssa. Their hospitality was top notch. They are doing some great things in the hospitality area and for the animals they take in as rescues. We stayed in our RV through Harvest Host and we would 100% stay again.

This place is awesome! My wife and I wanted to take our 2 small kids camping but didn't know where to go. We found this place in the app Hipcamp and noticed it was highly rated and seemed pretty cool so we took a chance and checked it out; it far exceeded what we hoped for. Staying here is like sleeping in a petting zoo; there are horses, donkeys, chickens, pigs, peacocks, goats, cows, emus, and about a dozen very friendly dogs that roam the property keeping it safe. It is so peaceful and everyone is super nice. We will definitely be back again!

The animals are lovely but the sanctuary itself is sad. We were placed on an open area because of the size of our setup. Not a problem. But it gave a good look at the animals and their surroundings. It was dirty, piles of manure everywhere-and I mean everywhere. The female dog has recently had another litter of puppies and was skin and bones. The pig they wrote so much about was crying at an enclosure because she has been separated from her babies. We were so excited to stay at an animal sanctuary/rescue and were heartbroken at the conditions of their pens, barns, fields. 🥺
