What Guests Are Saying
Greenbelt Campground offers a great location close to Washington D.C., providing a peaceful, forested setting with well-maintained sites and convenient access to amenities. Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, it’s recommended for its affordability and accessibility to both urban and natural attractions.

This is a lovely park tucked right next to the nations capital! The bathrooms were small but not overcrowded, we were camping in peak season. The primitive campsites vary wildly, some with privacy, and some without any but this is a great campsite to go with friends and use a few spots. There are no hooks or any additional camp "furniture" except the picnic table. The camp fire pits were plopped on top of a square of concrete, rather than buried below ground, so the top grill area is pretty much impossible to use. It's a full 3-4 feet off of the concrete slab so the grill is never close enough to the fire to actually use, it was very frustrating! Luckily, one of our group had a small grill we put inside the camp grill, so we could cook our food. Other than the ridiculous campfire/grill placement, the camp was comfortable and well taken care of.

The campsites are very close together so there isn’t a lot of privacy. The RV permitted campsites are mixed in so it can get very noisy during the day.
