Greenbelt Campground offers a great location close to Washington D.C., providing a peaceful, forested setting with well-maintained sites and convenient access to amenities. Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, it’s recommended for its affordability and accessibility to both urban and natural attractions.

I've camped here for years. It offers peace at a modest price. The latrines are cleaned daily but honestly, the park service needs funding for some improvements and repairs. There are frequent patrols and they suggest security actions.
In addition to being close to a metro station, there is a Safeway nearby that has firewood and kindling. I cooked both nights of my visit with that wood.
While it can fill up for summertime holidays, mostly there plenty of available spaces.

Really nice campground, no hookups but spacious spots. Some wierd spots along the road like people camping on the road. Very few level spots and none I saw had pads. Very rustic. The park is very rural looking and HUGE but right in the middle of plenty of business and near highways. The metro stop to get to DC is only 14 min away with plenty of parking.

Quiet campsite in a great location! Plenty of nature trails in the park. We also visited nearby Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens, another NPS location. Good camping base for Anapolis too.
