Greenbelt Campground

One has to consider that we're in a State Park, camping, more or less in the city of Washington, DC, which makes this spot both very unique and not comparable to others. I was here for almost my entire stay (7 days), and there's no doubt it needs a do-over; many spots are extremely uneven, some water spigots don't work - I don't know about the restrooms because I never use those - and the dumpstation needs some fixing. But everything works, and the staff is very friendly and helpful, the tracks surrounding the park work for both dogwalks and running - so what more do you need?

the bathrooms are horrible, they leave white lights on all night abd they fill up wiith bugs and spiders, they aren't cleaned very well and the stall doors are broken the sites are rarely level, water for RV's is hard to getinto tanks, no fresh clean water at the dump station. but at leaat they have a dump station

We were in a sprinter van, near bathrooms for convenience (site150 loop c) while we explored DC. It was spacious, flat and quiet. You can’t walk to the metro but its a short drive to the station (and easy metro ride to DC site) and if you buy a smartrip card (from the station before you leave), parking is $4.50/day and free on wkds.
Bugs seem to congregate in the shower vs area which made for adventurous times for my teenagers. Definitely recommend as where to stay for only $20/night !

This is amazing place. In the middle of all the city chaos there’s this little hideaway of nature. I love it. I could’ve stayed much much longer . The Park Ranger was so kind to me and helped answer all my questions and helped me have much better stay. They fix the showers in a timely fashion, and I appreciated it so much. I went there so I could visit Washington DC and it was very convenient for me to do so the train is easy to take and the subway makes it so easy to get everywhere you need to go. I hope that I will have time in my life to return.

I live in rural northern Maryland, I stayed here for two weeks while working nearby. It was nice to have a forest to stay in this close to a city. The sites on edge of the road are weird
It is kind of sad that it is so disheveled.
It looks like it must've been super nice once upon a time. They don't cut the grass , I got a half a dozen deer ticks, and ended up with lyme .

We arrived at dusk and Ranger Turk appeared like a guardian angel and helped us sort our online reservation just in time for us to set up. So kind and professional. This park is the only affordable way to take kids to DC. Third time we’ve been here over 30 years. Camp in a clean, large, wooded, beautiful campground, hop on the Metro, see the sights and come back to hotdogs and a fire on a proper fire ring with a grill. Shower has hot water, good pressure. Lots of hiking trails, deer, lots of bird activity. Campground is deep within the park and surrounded by healthy, dense Eastern woodlands forest.

Level asphalt pad for the camper. Only affordable way to see DC and the area. Attentive rangers and campground host. Got a little busier on the weekend but did not get crowded or loud. Full of families. Except for outside road noise, you would never know you are in the middle of an urban area.

The comfort station was quite rundown, there was also no hanging hooks anywhere in the toilet area, so when going to brush teeth or washing face, there is no where to hang any towels or toiletries. Also, the mirrors above the sinks were basically hanging off the hinges (it really should be re-secured to the wall). There is also no place to throw the sanitary napkins in the toilets.
